What is the Mid Century style?
The Mid Century style emerged in the middle of the 20th century, just after World War II. The United States underwent an economic and population boom and many new homes were being built and needed to be furnished.
Young families wanted their homes to be more than exactly the same as they had been a century earlier; they needed more windows, space for family gatherings, efficient and functional designs. Advances in science and innovation brought new materials, textures, effects and forms to these dwellings.
Styles characterised by simplicity, cleanliness and unity with nature were very popular at the time, thanks to the influence of Brazilian and Scandinavian architects.

Characteristics of the Mid Century style
1. Importance of functionality
Mid Century style uses few accessories because it follows a minimalist aesthetic and avoids clutter. It is better to use large, expensive pieces of furniture rather than lots of small, cheap decorative elements.
You can add some minimal and simple vintage accessories in specific places, but don’t overdo it. If you like greenery you can also add some small plants to give more character and charisma to the room.
